Music with a Purpose

Pandora said NO

Well, I wish we had some better news, but Pandora refused adding our album, A Perfect World?, to their library. Their reason was that they have enough music in that genre. Now this seems a bit odd, as there is never enough music in any genre, right? Also, the Music Genome Project, which fuels Pandora, is supposedly all about the listener and new artists, at least that is what it says on their website. Maybe our next one?

Who are We?

Resonant Reflections is Chris Parkes and Brian Kumm, and together we’re a collective, duo, band or whatever you feel identifies two musicians creating music as one entity. Our style is a culmination of familiarity (old-school rock) and innovation (alternative). We have a sound that is akin to The Tea Party, Tool, Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle or even The Beatles. The music is both complex and straight-forward, while the lyrics are personal and universal. These are the songs that will truly open up your mind. While our work can be enjoyed for casual listening, it is meant for the introspective thinkers out there. During a time of great change we bring to you a catalyst for growth. Have a listen, you’ll be glad you did.

How Did We Begin?

The seeds were planted just over a decade ago, when we met by chance at an audition for a music program at college. Forging what seemed like an instant friendship, and a shared affinity for music, we have collaborated over the years in various capacities (mostly from a distance). Although, there had been plans for us to work together as a group, things never were able to materialize fully. In the last year, we finally were able to join together as nature intended. What started as a solo record, for one of us, has flourished in to us becoming a collective. Knowing that our efforts are much more than the mere sum of the parts, we joined together as Resonant Reflections.

A Perfect World?

A very innocent concept, but when we asked “What does A Perfect World mean to you?” the answers we received were full of division and isolation. This album discusses why this division occurs, what it can do and ultimately how it can be overcome. This is the result of a year long recording project with a 12 year history. The album contains fourteen, very powerful songs – touching on love, loss, division, unity and more. If you enjoy good rock music, unique changes, deep lyrics and melodic vocal lines, this is for you. Keep in mind, though, that this is an album that will get stuck in your head.
